Now you can broadcast your voice over Google Home

It’s suddenly a lot easier to announce the arrival of dinner, or that it’s time to leave the house.

Families, rejoice. Now, you can literally announce the arrival of dinner, or that’s it time to leave the house, using Google Assistant.

Users simply need to bring up Google Assistant and say something like: “OK Google, broadcast it’s time for school.” Their voice message will then be broadcast across any Assistant-enabled speakers.

It’s not always voice messages that are broadcast, however. Say: “OK Google, broadcast it’s dinner time,” for example, and a dinner bell will ring on your Google Home devices.

The development is also useful for family members announcing their imminent arrival back home. Say: “OK Google, broadcast I’m on my way home” from the office and Assistant will broadcast it to Google Home.

Voice broadcasting has been rolled out in English across the US, UK, Canada and Australia. More languages are set to follow.
